The Brief

I Won’t Be Told What to Believe

There was a time when stories existed to expand our minds, not control them.

A good story invites you in. It challenges you, stretches you, makes you think. A script, on the other hand, tells you exactly what to believe—no room for interpretation, no space for your own perspective.

Hollywood isn’t in the storytelling business anymore. They’re in the belief-shaping business.

It’s subtle. A throwaway line here. A carefully framed shot there. Before you realize it, you’re not just watching a movie—you’re absorbing a worldview.

Not yours. Theirs.

And here’s the thing: I won’t be told what to believe.

Entertainment or Indoctrination?

Stories shape us. They always have. The greatest stories leave us with questions. They don’t give us all the answers; they make us think.

But today’s movies aren’t about questions. They’re about persuasion.

Wrapped in blockbuster budgets and clever dialogue, modern films are sermons in disguise. The hero isn’t just overcoming obstacles; the hero is teaching you how to see the world.

Think this.
Feel that.
Believe what we believe.

Before you know it, you’re not entertained.
You’re programmed.

What They Don’t Want You to Know

The entertainment industry thrives on the illusion that you need their stories to validate your own beliefs. That you need their characters to represent you. That you need their approval to feel seen.

You don’t.

They’ve built an empire on the assumption that you do—because if you stop watching, the machine crumbles.

Their power is fueled by your attention.
Your freedom begins the moment you take it back.

The Power of Your Own Story

Real power doesn’t come from a studio, a screenplay, or a billion-dollar franchise. It comes from ownership—of your mind, your choices, and your story.

Hollywood isn’t interested in your story.
They want you to live theirs.
Follow their script. Adopt their worldview.

But the stories that actually change lives? They don’t come from Hollywood. They come from you.

  • The moment you stood up for what you believed in, even when it was unpopular.
  • The day you chose responsibility over blame.
  • The time you taught your kids to think instead of simply obey.

Those moments matter more than any blockbuster.

A Call to the Unindoctrinated

I don’t watch Hollywood’s films anymore.
Not because I don’t love stories.

I love stories.

But I refuse to be spoon-fed beliefs disguised as entertainment.
I refuse to let a billion-dollar industry dictate who the hero is and who the villain should be.
I refuse to trade my own perspective for a mass-produced narrative.

It’s time to reclaim our stories.
To think for ourselves.
To live by what we know to be true—not what we’re told to accept.

Because when you reject indoctrination, you don’t just free yourself.
You light the way for others to do the same.

And that’s a story worth telling.
